Too many tables in the open spaces. There was furniture last year. Many things had not changed yet the atmosphere was not as fun or inviting and I found that disappointing. I met a lot of people from different places on their way to other parts of the island last year. Not so much this year. There were a lot of groups but not many individuals. It could be the time of the year, I have only been to Reykjavik twice, but you might look into it. Otherwise I would recommend HI to anyone going to Iceland. Always comfortable and the staff is still great.

Easy to find and well organised including entertainment. Since next to camp, pool and sports groungs relaxing atmosphere.

6-bed dormitory cramped with narrow beds. Impossible to sleep when others are already up. No lockers in the room, no electric outlet by bed. Breakfast somewhat poor compared to HI hostels in Scandinavia, but I did get my fill cheaply.
