Our mattress had a massive slump in it from continued people sitting on the edge. It was so bad you sunk into it - clearly either a very old and used mattress. The rest of it was uncomfortable and lumpy - my boyfriend and I had lots of difficulty sleeping on it for 4 nights. I suggest that better quality mattresses be used or rotate them occasionally.
The room we stayed was nice and clean. The hostel's environment/atmosphere was pretty nice (the lounge on the second floor is great). The hostel offered complimentary breakfast and the quality was quite good. The only thing I would say is the location might be kinda noisy, however, it's extremely convenient. So do bring your earplug if you are a light sleeper.
The room was nice and appeared clean but smelled a bit funny, perhaps the carpets need changing or it needs a good airing. The shower and toilet floors look like they need some elbow grease, very grimy. Staff efficient but not overly nice. Was told once by a guy that I couldn't hand in my key to him because he "wasn't working" even though he was behind the counter, and honestly how hard is it to take a swipe key?
the private room that we got placed in stunk so much that we had to go and buy our own air freshener.
the hotel was noisy, there was kids running around, we could hear every footstep of everyone walking up and down the stairs. our room was next to the stairs so i feel like ours was noisiest.
there was a bench right outside our room where people always sat, it was as if they were in the room with us.
the wifi was terrible, we couldnt research anything as it disconnected every few minutes.
